Interesting and diverse photographic display
Magpie Springs has a fine art gallery, winery, climbing wall and coffee house in a sprawling rustic garden. The owners related that when visitors arrived at this property, almost everyone reaches for a camera, so they started a photographic competition and exhibition. It has proved to be fun, with some wonderful images.
Photographers had a three month period within which to take a photo at Magpie Springs, having full reign over the property during this time (80 acres). Photographers came day and night. This property being a unique site, not just about the vineyard, but also rustic artefacts, flora and fauna, to picturesque settings, happenings and a vineyard at work.
The competitions inaugural year was in 2014. The 2015 exhibition opens on May 31st at 2pm. It will be on display and for public voting until 26th of July. This year, prizes of wine and coffee have been added to by Southern Boulder - Cash and climbing passes, Atkins Photographic, a framed print and Our Place Restaurant, a lunch for four.
