Chocolate lovers, paradise is your stop at Westfield Sydney in the Pitt Street level right near Peter Alexanders. The is here, and is here for only six weeks. That's right, from the 16th of July right through to the 25th of August.


Ah queues, this is what the fun fare is all about, and it is actually worth $7 a pop to allow your own self created, indulgent Magnum ice cream to come to life, all in front of your very eyes. No more plain flavoured Magnums Sydney, well at least not for another six weeks anyway.


Pick your chocolate coating before choosing your toppings. Quite simply, the menu options are milk, dark or white chocolate. Then the time comes to choose three to four different toppings of your choice, before heavenly chocolate sauce tops it all off. If you are spoilt for an abundance of choice (come to think of it, it's not too hard), the recommendations include choosing chopped pistachios, dried raspberries and rose petals. There were no raspberries on opening day (16 of July) when yours truly devoured her choice of Magnum. Otherwise another suggestion can include chocolate flakes, honeycomb pieces and rock sea salt. These are just recommendations.


Other topping choices include hazelnut, macadamias, almonds, biscuits, flakes and sprinkles to name a few. Before ordering, the person taking your order will ask you for your name and process your order. Then head to the other side, and watch a pleasure expert create your own magnum right in front of your very eyes. See them take a solid ice cream from its packet, and dip it in the chocolate of your choice, then place it on a tray and add toppings go on both sides, to be finished off with you sauce of choice.

The person who made mine said to me, "Is milk chocolate your favourite?" I also adamantly stated that I am a dark chocolate girl, yet was in the mood for milk chocolate on this occasion. That's right, a milk chocolate dipped magnum with hazelnuts, pistachios and rose petals sprinkled with milk chocolate sauce. From one fellow Sydney chocolate lover to another, I must confess that mine was too good to eat. Yet I ate it anyway.


There are Magnum themed chairs and mini pink tables to enjoy and eat, until you feel confident in taking away. Allow the chocolate sensation to melt for a few more seconds, and then you're right. There are three simple steps - good luck coming in threes again.

The store will only be around for the next six weeks. As suggested:

Week 1: Coat it
Week 2: Top it
Week 3: Set it
Week 4: Name it
Week 5: Share it
Week 6: Love it before its gone.
