Magic Steven delves into a World of Feelings with this hour long show. With a narrative of diary entries, our comedian manages to keep a straight face. There's hits and not really misses, as the simple stories are read to you. Even if you find the observations ha ha funny, there's a lot that is relatable. Presented at the Kaleide Theatre at RMIT, the unmissable entrance is on Swanston street.

Try reading out the title while keeping a straight face. It's harder than you think. When I first read it I couldn't stop laughing. Subsequently, I haven't been able to keep a straight face whenever someone has asked me the title. It's simple and tells you what to expect. Plus it tells you that Magic Steven has the guts to use such a resonating name for himself.

It does take guts to stand in front of a theatre full of people and deliver your material. A fear of public speaking is a common fear. Now imagine reading your diary or journal out and trying to entertain a crowd. Any joke tell can't be forced or you seem fake. If you read without intonation, you might as well be background noise on a train . As for being able to tell a story or retell a funny event, even the best of us find ourselves losing momentum with each retelling. So Magic Steven has really set a challenge for himself.

The show is primarily about Magic Steven's search for change that will improve his life. The overarching story is told through diary entries or experiences. Unlike the Facebook statuses of certain people who you roll your eyes at, our comedian doesn't over share. The funny parts don't scream out as jokes. They are more like the silly but profound observations that we have that we are often too embarrass to say out loud. We each have very silly epiphanies that are more funny when someone else says them out loud.

It feels like a conversation that you would have with a friend over coffee. Everyday events can be a source of humour that is very relatable. Save for the one patron who will laugh at every word, most people should be able to enjoy a lot of the show.

Magic Steven's World of Feelings reads out private thoughts that most people would find too silly to say out loud. Everyday observations are the source of humour and we are all guilty of over thinking everyday events. The humour might not suit everyone's tastes but the entertaining narrative will.
