The Milk Bar invites you to enjoy their weekly Magic Mic performance - but if you're picturing a shirtless Channing Tatum right now, you should probably read on.
West End venue, The Milk Bar, serves up a side of comedy with their craft beer every Sunday evening. From 7.30pm, a series of comedians will attempt to woo the crowd with their comic observations on the world around them. Each set includes approximately six comedians, but there are also sign-up spots available in case you're suddenly struck with inspiration. No pre-booking required.
You can't have a Sunday arvo sesh without food and beverages and fortunately, The Milk Bar provides. The menu boasts a range of modern treats and traditional pub favourites, with chips and aoili sitting alongside pork bao and cauliflower popcorn, steak and chicken parmigiana competing with duck ragout, and a lentil and chickpea burger looking right at home next to beef and lamb offerings. They've even got a kids menu. And while The Milk Bar might look like a hip and trendy West End bar, they charge pub prices, with snacks starting at $4 and mains averaging about $20.
The Milk Bar can be found at the Montague Hotel, an office building turned modern gastropub and craft beer bar. With a What's On calendar heavy on live music and comedy, this inner city bar has quickly gained a reputation as a venue for free entertainment.
