is a gift shop with a difference. Every item on display is handmade by talented individuals.
You can't tell what the main item of merchandise is because there isn't one, as there are literally hundreds of different items on display.
is the brainchild of Colleen, a talented artist with a passion for Australian made gifts.
Her most famous artwork is Sam the Emu, whose image pops up around the shop on many products. He even greets you at the door.
The shop has been in North Ringwood in its present location for over four and a half years. It is situated in an arcade behind the shops in the Ringwood-Warrandyte Road, on the corner of Oban Road.
Knitwear and clothes for little ones feature prominently through the shop.
What can be cuter than baby booties? Baby booties in AFL team colours of course, along with suitable sized beanies. Lock in their allegiances young.
Older children are not forgotten with a nice range of wooden toys.
Soft toys of all sizes are everywhere. I particularly like the number of tiny teddies, all slightly different.
There would be thousands of items on display. Colleen explains, "I have over 200 suppliers, 28 from interstate, 93 retirees and three fourteen-year-olds, with each supplier averaging 20 items."
Because all items are individually handcrafted, many can be custom made for you. If you love an image of a koala on a cushion cover but would like it on an apron, just ask and it will be done.
Colleen has an agreement with Melway Maps and can apply an image of any page in their street directory onto an apron, cushion, tea towel, or even a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle – not recommended to navigate by.
Pottery items appear throughout the store among a huge range of knick-knacks.
Feel like having a high-tea party? Then choose from several teapots complete with tea cosies and a three-tier stand of plates.
The palate is not forgotten with a range of honey, chutneys, sauces and jams. I am sure I also spied several freshly baked cookies.
To assist many of her craft persons, and others, she has a good range of haberdashery items in the form of ribbons, tapes, cotton and buttons.
If you are in North Ringwood, call in for a browse. If you are nowhere near North Ringwood, call in for a unique gift for every member of the family.
