Such good food and more at these markets
This year, the European Night Market will return at Madame Brussels Lane. This will be the 5th year that this event has been on and it will transform the lane into a busy European-style night market each Friday in July.
The market was originally Inspired by the picturesque Christmas markets in places like Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the UK. The market will feature some of Melbourne's most decadent and gourmet food vendors and will be one not to be missed!
The market is at 50 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne and they will be open from 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm. Admission to the market is FREE, and it is situated near the corner of Spring and Lonsdale Streets.
There will be tasty European food to warm you in the cold weather, and also delicious food to satisfy your sweet tooth. If you have not tasted European foods, then this is the time to start. If you have tasted it, you will probably want to go and have some of this delicious food once again!
Starting with the first market on Friday 6th July, there will be a selection of European eats to keep you warm. You can expect everything cheesy - from raclette scraped on top of potato and charcuterie, to pasta straight from the cheese wheel. Also expect delicious cheese boards, to Bavarian snacks like pretzels and sausages. There will even be gluten-free cannoli available for dessert. So what is stopping you attending this fabulous night!
However, this is not only a food market, but there's more, as the saying goes! There will also be live music and entertainment. Don't worry about the winter icy weather, as you can get many mugs of very hot mulled wine and warm spiced rum!
The vendors will be making you the best food, drinks and entertainment - just like in Europe. This will, in fact, be just like going on a holiday to Europe and a great way to finish off your working week!
The Madame Brussels Lane will become an exciting place full of musical performances. There will also be a special lane-way light display created by Electric Confetti. Some of these finest European hotspots/food vendors will include:
Italian doughnuts stuffed with Nutella
Arancini balls and authentic pasta from Café Babbo
Richmond Hill Cafe & Larder will be selling French onion soup and cheese boards to take home
Bowls of melted raclette from Frencheese
Hot candied nuts from Chooh La La
Crepes of all flavours from Pop Up Crepe, including delicious Nutella crepes
There will also be tastings from a local distillery, all to warm up the blood! And there's more! There will be scarves, beanies and gloves from Spoilt. This is in case you are still not warm enough after all the eating and drinking.
In addition, you will be able to get a reading about your future, discounted haircuts from the Men's Barber Shop and a Cobbler DJ spinning decks and shining shoes all night long.
