If you tend to believe that sequels are never as good as the original movies, Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted will undoubtedly test your theory. Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman have stormed back onto the big screen with an explosion of fun-filled chaos, providing some necessary light-relief from the abundance of action films that have been circulating in the last few weeks.

In this autumn's third instalment of the popular films, the unlikely gang embark upon a journey through Europe in pursuit of a passage back to New York. However, after causing mayhem in Monte Carlo the group are forced to seek refuge within a touring circus, as they find themselves endlessly tracked by a pack of frenzied animal control officers.

During their travels, Alex and his friends discover that Circus Zaragoza could eventually end its tour in New York, providing that the show impresses the American talent scout. With this in mind they quickly set about re-vamping the tired performances, sparking new-found enthusiasm within the assortment of wayward circus performers. The subsequent events unfold with typical hilarity, as they attempt to invent a spellbinding extravaganza in hope of earning themselves a ticket back home. Accompanied by a whole heap of brilliant new characters, including a group of cockney terriers whose act involves dressing up as British aristocrats, the lively gang are more entertaining than ever!

Don't make the mistake of avoiding this film until it's released on DVD because you'd be embarrassed to see an animation without a child in tow. This is a movie that deserves its place on the big screen; the clever jokes will make you laugh out loud, the vivid animation is practically hypnotic, and the genius soundtrack will have you dancing in your seat. Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted is by far the most entertaining film I've seen in the past few months, and I commend anyone who can resist incessantly singing Marty's 'Afro Circus' after watching it! Book your tickets, you won't regret it!
