Event:
Learn the ropes
Reverse Garbage in Woolloongabba is a not-for-profit organisation, and one of my favourite haunts. Periodically they hold adult and children's workshops using the materials from the warehouse.

This popular workshop is ideal for retro enthusiasts (remember making these at school?) and budding interior decorators who want to be "on trend".

The friendly staff/tutors will show you the ropes (boom boom) to create your own macramé hanger(s). You'll learn basic macramé techniques using salvaged material such as material, fibres and rope.

Please note that the pots and plants are not provided. If you'd like to make a hanger for a particular pot, bowl or other small container which you already have, you can bring it along to custom-make your hanger.

I have done other workshops at Reverse Garbage such as making mosaic house numbers and Steampunk jewellery. Both of these were fun classes and I got to take home my interesting craft attempts.

Don't forget Reverse Garbage has a shop where you can buy items made by other artists and crafters using recycled materials from the warehouse.
