Look how gorgeous this place is on the inside!
For a quick girlie lunch, you should check out
on Racecourse Road at Ascot . Looking at the outside doesn't give you much of a clue as to the pretty decor on the inside which is in the French provincial style. It's quite chic and features a full service delicatessen where you can pick up domestic and international cheeses, cold cuts and other deli foods. It's also a cafe serving excellent coffee, complete with latte art.
We had a lovely lunch here after hearing good things from friends. The salad was extraordinarily fresh and vibrant, studded with quality sundried tomatoes, olives and melon balls and served with a nice portion of freshly shaved smoked ham.
We also enjoyed a fresh chicken pie with crispy pastry. The filling was moist and flavoursome. It was served with another lovely salad, faultless in its freshness and flavour. Rather than an ordinary old salad dressing, we were provided with a little bowl of mandarin-infused oil to add as desired.
For dessert, we loved our brownie served with delicate, rich chocolate ice cream balls. It was superb and hit the spot perfectly!
And finally, the coffee was excellent, complete with lovely latte art.
There's an obvious emphasis on quality at MacNab with its wall full of beautiful delicacies including jams, sauces, chocolates and even a small range of fresh produce.
The deli counter is extremely inviting and inspires you to buy a basketful of goodies to take home and whip up a cheeseboard or an antipasto platter.
The owners are friendly and warm and enjoy talking with customers.
Located at 121 Racecourse Road, Ascot, you can call them on 3162 7917 to enquire what's for lunch. Bring a gaggle of girlfriends and linger a while.
