Boutique coffee in Ashgrove
Welcome to Macchiato Me
Everytime I drive past Macchiato Me Espresso Bar in Ashgrove, I mean to stop by and today I did. I parked in the small car park outside the front of the shop and noticed that street parking is also available at adjoining streets.
Inside, the stark black walls, timber floors and weathered wood trimmings alongside industrial fixtures and steel stools give a darkened, moody vibe to this small cafe. One large table is positioned by the single street facing window. The two tables outside the shop offer views to Oakleigh State School and Mount Cootha can be seen in the distance. The constant flow of traffic buzzing along busy Wardell Street can be a little distracting, but the noise can be overcome by good conversation.
Coffe and cake - what a great combination
My chai latte was served in a white take-away cup (no crockery here) and for coffee drinkers, Dramanti is the coffee of choice. Pies, quiches and cakes are a simple companion. Macchiato Me offers a complimentary coffee upgrade for service emergency personnel. Nice touch.
The team at Macchiato Me are early risers with the Ashgrove Espresso Bar opening from 5am Monday to Friday and from 7am on weekends. I left feeling that Macchiato Me is a good place to stop when the coffee urge is simply too great to ignore.
