This Macbeth is a farcical 18 who-dunnit that its producer hopes will have its 18 audience in hysterics (n, (hi'steriks): a wildly emotional and exaggerated reaction), over the four nights of its run at the Gaelic Hotel in Surry Hills. Eat, drink and enjoy original pub theatre. The play takes as its starting point, the curse of Macbeth --- the Scottish play --- but, after that, most of the similarity ends. With an axe in the back of the lead actor, the show cannot go on. Or can it? While 'Detective Fredericcio' attempts to solve the crime, the players and crew take the spotlight to entertain the audience with comedy, song, dance and magic: a variety show by default!
Written by Seaton Kay-Smith, directed by Nick Hunter who both appear on stage with Emma Leonard, Ted Crosby and others, with music by Josh Flowers and his band (Nick Gunn, Ed Gunn and Sam Moginie) with Libby Glanville on cello.
