From the eerie, spellbinding opening sequence to the intense battle scenes, their work transports the audience deep into the world of the play. The set, designed by Lisa Fa’alafi and brought to life by Freddie Komp, embraces the in-the-round staging format with innovative elements, including a cauldron hatch at the centre of the stage and a striking contrast between gloss and matte black finishes.

Beyond its aesthetic brilliance, this Macbeth provides thought-provoking commentary on gendered power dynamics. The production highlights how the female characters use words and influence to achieve their goals, whereas the men resort to violence. This contrast offers a fresh perspective on the text, making it an excellent choice for those who enjoy Shakespeare with an edge.
