This Saturday, April 5th 2014, marks the 50th Anniversary of General Douglas MacArthur's passing. We remember him as one of the world's most famous soldiers who devoted his life to the defence of freedom. As a special tribute, the MacArthur Museum Brisbane will be opened this Saturday from 10AM to 3PM, and is pleased to welcome all to join us in honouring the life and legacy of General MacArthur. The day will begin with a wreath ceremony, followed by a short discussion on General MacArthur's life and his contributions to Brisbane, which he helped transform from a small town to a booming city. Visitors will also be greeted by some museum staff dressed in 1940s military attire, as they experience a day in the life of "Brisbane at War".
