Hands up who loves macarons! The sweet, French meringue-based confection comes in a variety of colours and flavours. From chocolate to strawberry and caramel to hazelnut, the combinations are endless.
The name macaron is derived from the Italian word macarone, maccarone or maccherone. These pretty morsels are characterised by a smooth squared top, a sweet ganache in the centre and say decadence with a capital D.
The team at Marche du Macaron are sharing their macaron making skills by holding two masterclasses in February and March.
Classes will be held at their Ashgrove store on Wednesday the 21st February and a second on Wednesday 7 March. (The Marche family also have a second store in Gordon Park) The evening classes are from 6-8.30pm for $165 per person. Call the team at Marche du Macaron at Ashgrove on 3366 6865 to book your spot and bring a little piece of France to your next dinner party.
