You get to a certain stage in your teens when drinking is just not fun!

This is for all you folk who have just finished university, TAFE or work experience and are entering the work force. Drinking isn't that much fun because you won't be able to see all your mates the next day and share all the funny stories, and dare say stupid regrets with one another.

At the risk of sounding completely insane, I'm going to explain to you why drinking and aging don't mix. As you get older your body filters substances more slowly which basically means that getting over that hang over takes twice as long as when you were 18. Not to mention that our responsibilities increase and we just can't afford to miss the alarm clock in the morning.

But have no fear, a replacement activity is here.

In Melbourne we are privileged enough to either have a lake or a reservoir not more than 40 minutes away. But if you happen to be in the City of Casey you can pop down to and go for a nice swim. If you want more excitement then just bring along some mates, lots of meat for the BBQ, and a canoe or a catamaran.

The lake isn't very large which means that the water heats up quickly and there is no prettier scenery than the trees lining the island across the lake.

You can find off the Belgrave-Hallam Road (Melway Ref: 108 D1). With summer hopefully not too far away I'll end with happy laking...
