While the COVID-19 period has been harsh on us art lovers wanting to spend time at art galleries, I took the opportunity to share one of the galleries I checked out back in February.
Lyons Gallery, located in Paddington has a cool collection of fine art photography pieces. As an avid fan of fashion photography, the works of Helmut Newtown were definitely eye-catching (and not just the nude photos!)
Having visited New York last year and checked out some stuff in the MET, I'd have to say there were similarities between the two exhibitions.
I like how the gallery is neatly hidden in a quiet street in Paddington. Quite lowkey, must I say.
They also have works from Andy Warhol, which I think is super cool, but as someone who checked his stuff in San Francisco, I personally wasn't too amazed.
Looking at their website, it seems as though they do have a collection of Roy Lichenstein works. Unfortunately, none were laid out for display when I came to visit which was a bummer.
They had a few wildlife prints too which I really wished they had more of! I think it's a lost art in recent times, to be honest.
I would totally suggest anyone interested in fine art photography to check out Lyons Gallery as soon as COVID-19 is all over!
