Did you know that French Lavender is actually English or that there are over 90 different types of lavender?

Lavender has long been used for therapeutic purposes as well as for its wonderful aroma. It is also well known as an aid to relaxation.

Next time you are planning a visit to the Barossa Valley, why not take a short but delightful detour. Nestled in the foothills just outside Lyndoch is the Lyndoch Lavender Farm.

The Farm is open between August and January. This is the best viewing time for these wonderful fragrant plants.

There is an impressive gift shop where you can choose a scented souvenir from the array of gorgeous products for sale, from linen to fragrant oils and toiletries, seeds and buds.

The onsite café is also open. You can enjoy Devonshire tea with lavender flavoured scones or even try some lavender ice cream.

If you are one of those people who just loves the aroma of freshly picked lavender, then this is a must see attraction. Stroll among the rows of beautiful lavender varieties and soak up the scenery.

Group bookings are also welcome.

Sounds like a lovely fragrant place to slow down and smell the flowers.
