Five years on, and still going strong. is located in the Lynbrook Hotel in the South Eastern region. It's a family favourite for us as we've been there a number of times, for special occasions, for not-so-special occasions, with friends, by ourselves, and each time, we have had a positive experience.



If you wish to enjoy here as well, make prior reservations for specific session times. Each session time is about 2 hours, so you must vacate the dining area within the allocated time, and the friendly staff will be prompt in reminding you as your session time is coming to a close. That said, 2 hours are more than enough to have a go at most of the dishes one would like to try.



After making reservations, head on to the hotel at your appointed time. Payments must be made in advance and do not include drinks. There is room for 300 guests at any given time, and large groups can be accommodated easily. There is an indoor play area, suitable for children under 8, where children can burn off some calories.



On offer at this buffet is a large selection: soups, wood-fire pizzas, salad bar, seafood, roast carvery, pastas, kids' varieties (fries, nuggets, lasagna, etc.) roasted vegetables, Asian and Indian cuisine and saving the best for last, an out-of-this-world dessert bar (which also includes fresh fruit options and ice-creams). One of our friends once commented after visiting the buffet that he had finally found the way to paradise.



As with most buffets, the variety here is elaborate and since the dishes are catered for a wide audience, they are mildly spiced (almost bland). For those looking for a zing, a large selection of sauces and condiments is readily available. Also to be remembered is that people who have special dietary requirements (e.g. gluten issues, etc.) might be in for a disappointment.



A few pointers: this place gets quite busy on weekends and close to holidays, which means a bit of queuing up at the buffet, and a bit of bumping into each other. Staff are quite friendly and efficient in taking used plates away. Fresh food is brought out and replenished at frequent intervals. All dishes are clearly labelled, with plenty of vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices. Drinks can be purchased at the bar.

One thing that irks me at buffets is the wastage of food; we should be wary of this fact at all times. I do find that the prices for children are a bit high, but otherwise, a good place to eat for lunch or dinner. One word of advice for those looking for a fine-dining, well catered a la carte style or a true blue exquisite cuisine experience, this place is probably not best suited for you.

For a generally affordable and memorable dining experience, I would give this Bistro a definite try and form my own opinion.
