Ever dreamed of taking an long ocean cruise? Well, the next best thing to taking a cruise is to see the cruise ships in Fremantle Port .

Cruise ships drop anchor at the Fremantle Port on a regular basis throughout the year. Sometimes the luxury liners are in port as part of an around-the-world cruise but many use Fremantle as a home base.

Ocean cruises are now one of the fastest growing sectors of the world-wide tourism industry and because of this the Port of Fremantle has seen an increased number of cruise ships visit every year. When in the Western Australian region, all cruise ships berth at the Fremantle Passenger Terminal and sometimes it is possible to visit the passenger terminal and see the ships up close. However, on some occasions the passenger terminal is closed to the public when ships are in port, for security reasons.

Some of the biggest and most beautiful luxury liners visit Fremantle each year. Cruise ships such as the Sea Princess, the Queen Mary 2, the Voyager of the Seas, the Astor, the Arcadia and the Radiance of the Seas arrive in Fremantle a couple of times each year.

If you are lucky enough to be taking a cruise, or perhaps seeing friends off on the trip of a lifetime, the Fremantle Passenger Terminal is where the adventure begins. Within the Fremantle Passenger Terminal, on the upper level, there is a cafe and a fully licenced bar so you can enjoy a drink or a snack while you wait for passengers to embark or disembark.

People all over the world flock to see these majestic cruise ships arrive and leave port. Here in Western Australia the best places to see cruise ships leaving or entering the harbour are at the western end of Victoria Quay or over on South Mole or North Mole.

The Heritage Listed Fremantle Passenger Terminal has been in operation since the early 1960's and was the arrival point for thousands of migrants who traveled to Australia by sea from Europe.
