The best memories are made camping
Our family have just come back from a weekend road trip - we went glamping near Mandurah. I wanted to go camping but no one else did, so we managed to find a compromise.

The compromise was a camper trailer which was already set up and ready to enjoy on a five-acre property in Furnissdale, just outside Mandurah.

The best thing about this glamping road trip adventure was the outdoor bathroom and that is what sold the trip to my husband.

We had read lots of reviews about this amazing Airbnb and the bathroom featured in almost every review.

We were not disappointed. The outdoor bathroom is impressive and a wonderful experience; showering in the open air has a certain bizarre feel-good factor. It wasn't something I had ever considered or thought about before but it should be on everyone's bucket list!

I was concerned about creepy crawlies but the only thing we saw was a resident frog keeping watch over the place.

There are a lot of mosquitoes but they hang around the lights at night and did not bother us whilst using the outdoor facilities. (Tip - keep the lid of the toilet down when not in use!)

Note the silver hooks on the tree for your towel

The outdoor bathroom is situated a very short walk from the camper trailer and is built in a rustic style using reclaimed corrugated panels and wood. It is stunning.

The enclosed bathroom area is enormous with plenty of dry room to get changed in after using the shower or bath. The owners have thoughtfully provided a bench and shelves which you can use to put your clothes and toiletries on and there are towel rails and hooks scattered around in the places where you need them.

There is running hot and cold water and the water pressure in the shower is really good, definitely as good as at home.

There is a sink, shower, bathtub, mirror, power and a proper flushing toilet (definitely a highlight when camping).

The leaves do fall from the trees but it wasn't an issue and added to the charm and experience.

At night it is well lit and it was clean and beautifully maintained.

If you are wanting to go camping but are put off by the amount of work involved in a weekend away, then this is the place for you. Experience the positive aspects of camping without the negatives; no tent to set up/take down, no camping gear to organise, limited packing (just pack the clothes & toiletries you need) and no clean-up and packing away when you get home. It's genius!

The kids will love the massive playground, trampoline, sandpit with diggers, cubby houses, ride on cars etc.

Mums and Dads will love the spa, fire pit (wood provided), BBQ, air conditioning in summer, heaters in winter, no TV, no internet and uber comfy beds.

The owners provide everything you need home away from home, click here to find the whole list of what is provided.

It sleeps 6 and is just $99.00 per night.

There is a huge caravan for hire on the property too and they share some of the amenities with the camper trailer and visa versa. Each listing on Airbnb will advise which amenities are shared and what is not. It's the perfect place to go for the weekend with another family.

This is a very special place and a truly unique experience.

Once a year, go someplace you have never been before; next year make it this place.
