We've already established how obsessed I am with breakfast meals, so I'm going to get straight to the point of this write up and the overall message it is going to convey...
LUX FOUNDRY CAFE IS A WINNER WINNER WINNER!
For those who haven't been there, I suggest you IMMEDIATELY put
'Lux Foundry Cafe' in your 'places to visit' list. In fact, grab your reminder list/calendar or whatever it is you log stuff into and do it now so you don't forget. You can thank me later.
I've been wanting to try this place for a little while now but because I'm without a car and living on the S.E side of Melbourne, I'd been slack with the effort I assumed it would take catching public transport (after actually researching I realise it wouldn't be that much effort at all, hurrah!).
So, I ended up scoring my sisters car for a week and woke up after a big night of celebrating with this exact thought:
"MUST DRIVE TO LUX FOUNDRY"
The rest goes like this...
I'm immediately blown away by this building, IT'S GORGEOUS. Before I walk through the door I'm already telling my fiance that this is going to be a winner...I'm THAT confident.
They don't disappoint, inside is just as gorgeous. Beautiful fittings, intriguing lights and simple furnishings. I must also comment on the staff, who are so lovely and friendly.
(Side note: isn't it just amazing when your waiter/waitress smiles at you? Totally makes a huge difference, wouldn't you agree?)
We ordered too much food, but it's was so worth it. Another win in my books is the coffee, I enjoyed it so much I had two (such a rebel).
The muffins here are freshly made and just so delicious. I ordered both of them, don't judge me!
Did I fail to mention this delicious combination of: Toast, avo, prosciutto, mozzarella & poached eggs? Seriously, I'm salivating writing this just thinking about it again... it's TORTURE!
The prices are great and this place doesn't take itself too seriously. It's a casual spot that's approachable and enjoyable.
So, what are you waiting for? Plan a visit and grab your friends, partner, folks or just ride it solo - you won't regret it.
PS: I recommend going with a group so you can get everyone to order something different. That way you can have a 'tasting plate'!
