Event:
Have lunch with the WA Premier, Mark McGowan
This is a rare opportunity - it is not often that the public can share a lunch with the West Australian Premier, The Hon. Mark McGowan MLA.

The WA Italian Club Inc. will present lunch with the Premier featuring the Hon. Mark McGowan MLA, Premier of Western Australia.

This event will give you the opportunity to hear from the Premier of Western Australia while enjoying an Italian 3-course meal with beer, wine, soft drinks and coffee.

When buying your tickets online, you are required to enter the guests' names to proceed with the booking. This is because name tags will be prepared for the event.

The venue is located on Fitzgerald Street in West Perth, which is walking distance from Northbridge and 5 minutes drive from the Perth CBD. At the rear of the building, there is an ample 3-hour free parking area which is available for your use. Also if you are coming in by public transport, the bus numbers 19 and 960 stops almost right in front of the venue.

The doors will open at 12 noon and there will be pre-drinks for 15 minutes and then the lunch starts at 12:15 pm sharp. Visitors will not be admitted after 12:20 pm.

The date for this lunch is Friday 26th July 2019 at 12:00 noon and the full address is Empire Function Centre, Upstairs at the WA Italian Club, 217 Fitzgerald Street, West Perth.

The cost for this lunch is $100 per person and you can book at this website.

About Mark McGowan
Premier Mark McGowan believes in hard work and merit. He is a huge supporter of "equality, opportunity and compassion". It was while growing up that he learned these values early and he grew up in regional New South Wales, where his parents operated a small business and sent their two sons to a public school.

Mark studied arts and law at the University of Queensland and then began his career in public service in the Royal Australian Navy. He went on to serve as a Lieutenant at HMAS STIRLING. Mark still remains a member of the Navy Reserves and was awarded the Governor General's Commendation for Bravery for the actions he took in 1995 when he rescued an unconscious driver from a burning car.

Mark then went on to move to Western Australia where he enjoyed the climate as well as the unique natural environment.

He benefited from several of those opportunities and became determined to give something back to the home that had given him so much.

Mark was the Deputy Mayor of Rockingham before winning the State seat of Rockingham in December 1996.

Since being elected to the Western Australian Parliament, Mark has held many senior portfolios both in the government and in opposition.

He was the Parliamentary Secretary to former Premier Geoff Gallop and was also a Minister in the portfolios of Education and Training; Environment; Racing and Gaming; Tourism and South West.

As Tourism Minister, Mark was able to make the WA's tourism industry grow by negotiating to bring low-cost carrier Jetstar to Perth.

In more recent years, Mark has been Manager of Opposition Business, as well as Shadow Minister for State Development, and Planning and Housing.

He was elected Leader of the Opposition on 23rd January 2012 and at that stage, he retained responsibility for the portfolios of Regional Development, Economic Reform and Public Sector Management.

In the 2017 State Election, WA Labor won 41 Legislative Assembly seats and Mark became the 30th Premier of Western Australia.

Whether you voted for him or not, this lunch is sure to be a very interesting one!
