Hailed as the largest public event in the City of Greater Dandenong, the Springvale Lunar New Year Festival has a rich history that spans back 23 years. A crowd-puller, this festival attracts more than 80,000 people from all over Melbourne.
Aimed at upholding Asian cultural heritage, the festival has in store many events to entertain visitors. There will be a huge range of multicultural food and market stalls selling all kinds of Asian delights. Carnival rides, sideshow amusements and live performances will be crowd-pleasers. The festival arena is minutes away from Springvale railway station, located in the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines. If you are driving, then there is ample parking at the nearby Springvale market. However, it will be wise to take public transport since it may be difficult to find parking on the festival day. Also, make a mental note to take cash since most vendors will not have eftpos facilities.
