I'm a translator by profession trying to do some justice to the freelance writer in me!! :)

It isn't so bad to shake the child in you from dormancy once in a while and act lunatic, is it? And when other would that be than these long summer days before you begin your Christmas celebrations?

The Luna Park at Milsons Point in Sydney is a great Amusement Park for that fun-loving kid in you. The park is located near the northern pylon of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and it has become an outstanding feature of Sydney's Harbour foreshore ever since it first opened in 1935.

The Park offers a variety of rides for kids and adult alike. The Ferris wheel takes you 40 meters high and shows you fantastic views of the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and the Sydney Harbour. For the adventure-loving creatures, there is a variety of roller coaster and thrill rides that are sure to send a chill running down your spine, just by the sight of them, let alone actually going on the ride. At Coney Island you can ride the slides, stumble through barrels of fun and shout as loudly as you wish to as you come whooshing down the Devil's Drop Giant Slide. Don't you already feel the nostalgia creeping in?

The 'fairy floss' and 'flavoured crushed ice in a cup' (I'm sorry I've forgotten what they call it there- but I'm sure each of us has eaten this as a kid and stealthily more often that not!) and ice-cream and chips and chocolates give you a fantastic opportunity to relive your childhood.

Lunacy after 6 pm: This is the best option I came across while browsing through their website. Luna Park offers two 'Unlimited Rides passes' for the price of one in its 'Lunacy after 6pm' scheme. But these passes are valid only on Fridays and Saturdays after 6 pm. The park offers a couple of other options like the 'Unlimited Rides Annual Pass' and at the moment they also are offering the second year free for purchases before Christmas.

"The Deck Sydney" is the aqua-dining experience at Luna Park that offers stunning waterfront views to go with your drink or dinner or just plain evening coffee.

Important Tips:

There are certain ride admission restrictions that you need to consider before you leave for you trip to 'amusementland', one of which is that you need to wear enclosed footwear. Make sure you go through the Visitor Information Page before you leave for your trip to 'amusementland'.

Make sure to buy tickets online to get an additional discount and also to avoid queues. You just need to carry a printed copy of your online ticket along.
