Celebrate and support multiculturalism and diversity at this year's Luminous Lantern Parade at Brisbane's Southbank on Friday 7 June from 5:00pm
This will mark the 12th annual LUMINOUS Lantern Parade and coincides with Queensland day landing in the same week. The parade celebrates Queensland's culture, heritage, people, places and industry.
See the sparkle, colour and light of the parade at this free, family-friendly event. Food stalls and entertainment start from 5pm and don't miss the parade which starts at 6.00pm. This will be followed by a concert at 6.30pm.
Look out for some of the larger lanterns which include a koala, owl, kangaroo and rainbow serpent, as well as iconic Brisbane landmarks including the Story Bridge and City Hall. Organisers, MDA Ltd expect some 15 000 people to visit the event.
So head to the Cultural Forecourt at South Bank Parklands this June and watch Brisbane light up for the Luminous Lantern Parade.
