Darling Quarter is now home to the world's largest permanent interactive light display - Luminous.

Launched on Friday, May 18, the city side of Tumbalong Park - Darling Harbour will be illuminated from 6.30pm, six nights a week.

This interactive installation is free to view and is sure to delight families and children.

The 'canvas', designed by renown lighting designer Bruce Ramus, covers some 557 windows and spans a distance of a remarkable 150 metres. The energy efficient LED digital facade was manufactured by architectural lighting specialists, Klik Systems.

On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, Luminous displays 'soft' images, such as clouds or waves and on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, various artworks are displayed.

The public are invited to interact with the installation via the two touchscreen consoles or alternatively, you can use a smart phone or tablet. Simply log on to Luminous at Darling Quarter to create your very own light show.

Over the coming months, the Luminous public space will be home to a range of special events - so head to the Darling Quarter Precinct website for all the latest news and offers.
