An axe-cellent activity - have fun and learn a new skill
If you are looking for a new activity to try, then Lumber Punks is just what you have been searching for! Located on Kensington Street in East Perth, this venue is dedicated to the art of axe throwing. The venue is easy to spot and has street parking available. This is an 18 and over activity and Lumber Punks have a strict no alcohol or drugs policy.
The venue is well designed and has 20 lanes available for throwing axes, so large groups are able to be accommodated. There are tables next to the lanes, so you can have your bags, drinks and snacks easily accessible. There are soft drinks and snacks available to purchase.
There is no expectation of prior knowledge or skill, as a staff member will provide a safety briefing and demonstration of how to throw an axe. After education on the technique, patrons are given time to practice. Initially, you throw small axes (SOG Tomahawks) before learning the technique for the larger one (Estwing Camp Axe). Once you have attended one session, you are considered "certified" and are allowed to attend any future sessions for one year without having to go through the technique and safety training again.
Lumber Punks is open 7 days a week with 5 sessions available per day. Each session runs for 90 minutes. Bookings can be made online here and all patrons who will be throwing axes are required to sign an online waiver prior to attending their session. Enclosed shoes are also a requirement.
For groups of 1-10 people, the cost is $45 per person. The price drops for groups of 11-24 people to $40 per person, and again for groups of 25 people to only $35 per person. For more information, visit the Lumber Punks website.
