The local Chinese community have helped shape the Queen Victoria Market since 1878. Discover local Chinese history as you taste your way around the iconic marketplace on a two-hour guided tour, with an English-speaking guide and Mandarin translator.

The tastes and treasures of the Dairy Hall, Meat & Fish market stalls, and locally crafted specialty items await you. A gift bag is included in the price of this tour, as well as generous samples for tasting and an exclusive experience of interacting with traders and producers.

Date: Friday, 19 February, and Saturday, 20 February, 10:30am - 12:30pm

There will be roving giant Cai Shen (Deity of Fortune) throughout the Market on the same days as the tour; find them and be rewarded with a lucky red packet.

Yuán Xi& #257 ;o Jié, The Lantern Festival of the Lunar New Year, celebrates the lead up to the first full moon of the Chinese Lunar New Year. On Saturday 20 February, from 7am to 3pm, also celebrate the Lantern Festival . Explore a wide variety of traditional Asian food stalls, performances, and free family activities, including traditional lion dances and lantern making workshops.
