Spend a purr-fect hour pampering feline friends
Resident cats love to play
On Brisbane's Southside at Annerley Junction, is a place for rescue cats and cat lovers alike to call home. You don't have to be a crazy cat lady to fall in love with this place. The owners are passionate about caring for abandoned cats and take them into their own homes as they grow too old for the cafe or if they need some extra care prior to joining the cat family at the cafe. They have provided a fabulous experience for both cat lovers and rescue cats through the establishment of the "Lucky Cat Cafe".
Entering the cafe, you are greeted with a tempting menu of cakes, biscuits and Cat Whites (Flat whites), Cat-puchinos and more. There are comfy couches and chairs and tables where you can enjoy a treat while you wait for your cat experience, or maybe you could play one of the many cat-themed board games which are available to borrow. If buying a coffee, you can bring your own takeaway cup and receive a discount. It is important that all drinks are covered as you enter the cat room.
Your one hour session with the cats takes place in another room, full of cats of all ages. If you are lucky, there may be a litter of playful kittens, or you can play with the older cats, each with their own personalities. There are helpful photos of cats on the wall describing their traits and what their favourite activities and favourite spots for a scratch are. There also the more placid, older cats that are happy to sit and receive some loving attention as you enjoy your coffee. The staff will take you through the rules of the room and introduce you to each cat, as well giving you some background on how they came to be at the cafe and their individual personalities. There are plenty of toys for you to use with the cats, and you can watch as the cats explore the area. It really is an adventure playground for the feline residents.
There are lots of fun cat-themed items to choose from.
After you have finished your play, you may wish to peruse the cat-themed merchandise to remember your visit. Choose from jewellery, cups and mugs, socks, magnets and many other items. Perhaps you would like to pick up the perfect gift for your own kitty! There are a wide range of cat accessories available.
The cats are a wide range of ages and playfulness.
To book your one hour session in the cat room, visit the Lucky Cat Cafe Website. The Cat Experience will cost you $14, and just a note, children under 8 are not allowed in the cat room and children 8 - 12 must be supervised by an adult. Gift vouchers and group bookings and parties (of up to 14 adults, 8 with a group with children under 10) are also available. For a really unique experience, why not attend a "Body Paw-sitive Yoga Class". Perform your cat-aranga and downward dog as the cats sit with you on your yoga mat. All experience levels are catered for. The yoga sessions cost $29.20
For a morning or afternoon tea with a difference, why not visit the Lucky Cat Cafe for a purr-fect break.
