To be frank, the pizza served at L'ucellino is delicious. The flavours on offer are rich and fresh and certainly aren't the standard ham, cheese and pineapple affair. More significantly, it's unpretentious and falls well short of the "trying too hard to be gourmet", which is something to be very thankful for.

The restaurant is situated a few doors down from the beautiful Sun Theatre in Yarraville and seems to benefit well from the "dinner and a movie" crowd. While the space is small and can get loud, the atmosphere is friendly and you can be sure that your table for two won't feel like it's for six, despite your neighbours being so close. This is a great restaurant for a meal with friends or even as a first date location. It's relaxed and informal and even if the date's a dud, the food will be the resounding highlight.
