I've always enjoyed Pilates but recently I have been hearing about another type of Pilates - Reformer Pilates. The style is similar, yet also very different from traditional Pilates as it isn't done on a mat but rather on a Pilates Reformer Machine. This type of Pilates is generally more intense and more dynamic than mat based Pilates as the Reformer adds resistance to the Pilates exercises. However, it is not a new style as Joseph Pilates invented the first Reformer himself. Reformer Pilates has been around from the start!
So when I heard that Lucas Studio was having an open day, and running free 45-minute Reformer Pilates classes on the hour, all day, I was very excited. I promptly signed up for the class, and am eagerly awaiting my first class where I can try this different style of Pilates to see if it is my cup of tea.
