In today's economic climate, every little saving counts, which is why I've compiled a list of the 6 best loyalty programs available on the Gold Coast that I believe can help you to get more bang for your buck.
First up is One Society, an affiliates program for students on the Gold Coast. With exclusive discounts from over 30 different local businesses, it has to be one of the most beneficial programs available in terms of the breadth of the specials that it offers. By joining One Society you can get yourself 10% Dissh clothing, 20% off Starberry Yoghurts in Surfers Paradise, free upsizes at Zarraffas and Nandos and free entry for you and a friend to Vanity Nightclub, plus 6 free drinks on Friday nights, 2 hours of free drinks on Sundays between 9 and 11pm and $4.50 basics every night, just to name a few. You can sign up via their website at onesociety.com.au, and it's absolutely free! You'll be sent a key in the mail which you can attach to your set of house and car keys and all you'll have to do is flash it in store to receive your discount.
If you're addicted to coffee, the two best loyalty programs that I have come across belong to Muffin Break and Zarraffas. To begin with, the Muffin Break Club program is free to join upon request. You simply ask the staff to give you a card and then all you have to do is register it online. Once you register your card is automatically loaded with a free small coffee and from then on every 5th coffee is free. You also are alerted to local specials that are exclusive to members via your email and you can also claim a free muffin on your birthday. Alternatively, the Zarraffas card costs $7.50 to start, but once you register you are reimbursed with $4.25 store credit. From then on your card is loaded with 10% of the value of any drinks that you purchase every time you swipe your card (50cents for a $5 purchase). Also be wary that the store credit can only be used for drinks. Like the Muffin Break Club, all you have to do is ask s staff member to start you up a card and again you'll need to register it online. On your birthday you also get a free drink.
For people who prefer a cold drink over a coffee, the Boost Vibe card is for you. You should be asked if you want to join the Vibe program by Boost Staff with every transaction and if you're a regular Boost drinker you should definitely consider it. Basically the program rewards you with a point for every drink that you buy (small, medium or original), and once you get to 10 points you get a free one. You won't be able to claim your free drink until you've registered your card online, but you can still collect points with an unregistered card. You also get a free drink on your birthday which you can claim up to 2 days before or after the actual date.
The Sushi Train VIP card is another loyalty program that's had a lot of success on the Gold Coast. Very simply for every $2 that you spend you receive 1 point and 10 points equates to $1. So for every $20 you spend $1 is added to your card. Like the Boost Card you can choose when to use your credit and you can even trade in your points for exclusive products like a Sushi Train iPhone case. There are also special days where you can receive special offers including double the points. To join the program it will cost you $3 but that money is loaded on your card as 30 points.
Finally for something a bit different, the Reading Cinema Reel Club is for all you movie buffs out there. The card is free to receive and is again based on a points system. For every dollar that you spend buying tickets both online and in store and at the candy bar, you'll be rewarded with a minimum of 1 point. These points can be used to redeem candy bar vouchers and ticket discount cards. You will also be registered for the weekly E-Newsletter which includes a movie of the week discount voucher in every issue. The only Reading Cinemas on the Gold Coast is located at Harbour Town.
