A Christmas wonderland not to be missed
Christmas shines bright in Loxton every December, and this year is no different. The Loxton Lights Festival begins on Saturday the 30th of November 2019 with a dazzling Christmas tree in the heart of town and numerous streets adorned with residential light displays. A suggested route map can be downloaded from here. Hilbig Street was where it all began, and Santa's Walk is best viewed between 8.30pm and 11pm.
Christmas Wonderland is the must-see during the festival. Stretching over 250 metres, this privately-owned light display truly amazes me. It includes the nativity scene in Bethlehem, Christmas Village, Santa's Boot, and Lolly Shop. You got to see it to believe it. Do visit their website for more details. Best viewing times are again from 8.30pm to 11pm.
As part of the festival, there will also be a Christmas Craft Fair on December 1st with local handcrafted baked goods as well as a Community Carols on December 15th by the combined churches of Loxton.
