It's time to meet Vishous' twin sister
Following on from Lover Mine, Lover Unleashed, by JR Ward, is the 9th book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series of books.

Lover Unleashed is unique to the rest of the BDB books, this is the first to be based on a female character. Payne has spent the greatest part of her life in suspended animation, put there by her mother for both her and the worlds protection. Her mother is the Scribe Virgin, yes she's Vishous' sister, his twin in fact. While Payne has known of her brothers existence, she has been lead to believe that he is long dead at the hands of the Lessening Society and the never ending war between them all.

Payne has been 'living' on the other side since being released from the animation, her only release from the mundane life are her daily fights with Wrath. Yes despite now being completely blind, Wrath still manages to hold his own in battles with Payne, which keep him sane since he can not go out into the field. Following a fight with 'the one that birthed her', Payne goes into her daily fight with Wrath in a complete rage and quickly finds herself injured and fighting for life.

Ejected into our world, Payne soon learns the truth of her brother, and learns what it's like to love another being. This comes in the form of a human, Dr Manuel Manello (Manny), whom V first came across when shot over a year ago and taken to the hospital in which he and his Jane worked. Manny is soon bought back into the fold of the vampire world, and falls hard for Payne. So hard that he's willing to give up his human life to be with her.

Will Payne survive her injury? Can Payne find her way in the human world? Will she be able to reconnect with the brother she thought she'd lost? What, if anything, will happen between her and Manny?

Lover Unleashed is just as exciting and enthralling as previous books in the Black Dagger Brother series, and I'm sure you'll find it as hard to put it down as the previous editions.
