Lyon: Bikes, Food and Wine
I was lucky enough to Travel to Lyon, France earlier this year. And as a lover of food (and Champagne) I was in H-E-A-V-E-N.
So much to do, so much to see. We only had two nights/three days, so had to pick and choose. Firstly, we decided to see the sights by bicycle. Europe has the hire bike scheme down to a fine art, and Lyon was no exception. Its cheap and easy to use. And a lot of fun. Helmets aren't required, so if you want to play it safe you will need to take your own.
Bike Hire - Lyon France
We spend the days travelling the beautiful old town.
This park is spectacular. Great for cycling or running, and right near INTERPOL if you wanna do a ride by.
Great multi use park
We then took our chance to see the high sights. Seems every city has a big wheel these days. Lyon's version of the London Eye.
Check out the view :)
Lyon Sky High View
We may have also lusted after certain european purchases ....
Too big for the suitcase
And by night, we did as the french do best. Ate and drank.
Food time - Archange
My husband is a total foodie, so after booking airfares he went straight to Trip Advisor, and booked us into www.archangecafe.com/" id="ccblink" target="_blank">this little gem.
No wonder it's ranked Trip Advisor's number 1 restaurant in Lyon. AMAZING.
Its cheap (Single Menu € 29.50 pp), cosy (10 tables), and some amazing food. A good wine list, and exceptional service.
Book well in advanced, this is a the place that takes walk-in's.
Like I said we only had a few days, but enjoyed every moment. Can't wait to go back and explore some more.
