Everywhere you look there seems to be an event, a shop or clothes described as Vintage. I'm never entirely sure if everyone uses the word to mean the same thing and let's be honest, sometimes it's a cover for old junk I found when clearing out my grandad's shed.
If you do want the real deal head to the Love Vintage Show at the Brisbane Exhibition Centre Thursday April 5-April 7. This show is perfect if you're a vintage fiend or just a bit curious.
This show offers premier vintage fashion, furniture, textiles, jewellery, homewares and collectables. I attended one of these shows In Sydney which was absolutely fantastic to wander around and absorb the atmosphere. You can just enjoy the displays with Art Deco on Show, Wedding Fashion and Lounge displays or sit for a while and enjoy a champagne and a bite to eat in the Vintage Cafe and Bar, a display in itself. Or you can dig into your wallet to buy some of the beautiful offerings from more than 50 stall holders.

There will also be several fashion parades, A Vintage Stylin' workshop and presentations on vintage lingerie, hair styling for men as well as poise and etiquette.
Why not dress up, have your makeup done by The Lindy Charm School for Girls stand and then have your new look captured on film with a professional photo shoot by Poco Rojo Pictures.
The show begins on Friday night with an evening of vintage dancing and dressing up. Arrive early and join in the free mass Charleston dancing session. This will be filmed and added to similar footage from shows in other cities. No previous experience necessary! You can also enter the Best Dressed in Vintage Competition and spend the rest of the evening enjoying the show and being the first to get the bargains.
