On April 27th to 29th the Love Vintage Clothing Show & Sale is coming to Canberra. It's the first time the show is coming to Canberra, after six successful years in Sydney.
There'll be clothes on show for the fashion collector, the fashion historian, and the fashion lover. As well as stalls where you can find some great fashions from throughout the 20th century, there are also parades, competitions, and workshops; all focussing on a range of different styles.
Parades include couture gowns from the likes of Christian Dior and other top quality designers, or the Best of British with designs that have wowed those over in the UK singe the 1940s. Any brides looking for some vintage inspiration will find it at Forever Vintage, you'll be able to see beautiful vintage gowns from the 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s, and after the parade you can try and then buy a beautiful gown if one catches your eye.
On the Sunday you'll be able to learn how to complete your vintage look with one of the Masterclasses. Vintage Glamour for Grown Up Girls will show you how to dress and act glamorous, stylish and sexy, with a load of vintage charm, and Vintage Makeup and Hairstyle Techniques will show you how to re-create hairstyles from the 30s to the 50s and incorporate them into your own style. If you're looking to complete the perfect vintage look this Masterclass could be just what you need.
The show is held at Exhibition Park (EPIC), just under 10 minutes from the city centre. Free parking is available onsite, or you can catch buses 5, 56, & 58 on Friday or buses 956 or 958 on the weekend.
Tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for pensioners, $10 for children 10 to 16 years, and free for all children under 10. Multi-day passes can be purchased for $26 or $38 for a two or three day pass respectively.
So dust of your fanciest vintage frock, and get ready to trawl through shelves or ribbons and lace, racks of clothes, and tables of other vintage collectables and accessories. For more information visit the Love Vintage website, and if you love vintage make sure you head along on the last weekend in April.
