Love/Hate Actually - Melbourne Fringe Festival

Run to Amy and Natalie's hilarious comedy Love/Hate Actually on now at the 2018 Melbourne Fringe Festival until 29 September. Book your tickets here .

Hailing from Brisbane, Amy and Natalie who form Act/React present a comic debate about the 2003 Richard Curtis film 'Love Actually' - a rom-com 'chick-flick' streamed across our television sets at Christmas. Featuring an amazing cast of Hollywood stars like Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Liam Neeson, Kiera Knightley, Alan Rickman (R.I.P) and Claudia Schiffer, this 'chick flick' romantic comedy, often polarises people into two parties – the 'lovers' and the 'haters'. Amy is a 'lover' of the film, whilst Natalie is a 'hater'. However, both still get hot flushes and a craving for Nando's when Colin Firth (aka Mr Darcy from Pride and Prejudice and Bridget Jones Diary) speaks Portuguese, and both despise Keira Knightley. Each night Amy and Natalie's present arguments for and against 'Love Actually' to win your vote.

Natalie dissects the film scene by scene, subplot by subplot, to find loopholes in the relationships and provides statistical analysis to relegate support from the audience from Amy's love of the show. Sporting a Christmas jumper, Amy focuses on the importance of love, presents, food, friendship and world peace. Natalie analyses the travelling involved by the character across Europe to pursue love affairs within unrealistic timeframes and maps their excessive carbon footprint. Amy examines each romantic love scene and Natalie rips apart their artistic merit.

There's audience participation, so get ready to have some harmless fun, including workplace training on appropriate behaviour at Christmas parties and inappropriate behaviour by English politicians. Every theatrical device is used to deliver this show and Amy and Natalie work the audience into a giggling frenzy with their debates and antics to win the audience vote. So head along to the Lithuanian Club in North Melbourne and get your fix of Love/Hate Actually before Fringe ends and cast your vote for the love of Colin Firth' or the 'hate of Keira Knightley'.

You'll love it!
