Biggest outdoor Christmas event at Piney Lakes
The Love Community Christmas Event is on again for 2012. One of the largest outdoor events of it's kind, this popular event will be held on Saturday 8th December, 2012 at the Piney Lakes Reserve, just off Murdoch Drive in Winthrop, between 5pm and 10pm. A terrific community event which promises to be fun for the whole family.
Proudly brought to you by the City of Melville, this Christmas event is free and offers lots of fun, activities and entertainment for the whole family. There will also be plenty of free entertainment for the kids with face painting, free activities, balloons and carnival rides.
This festive community event attracts people from far and wide. Over four thousand people attended the event last year for an evening full of fun, entertainment, music and Christmas Carols. The organisers hope that The Love Community Christmas Event will be even bigger and better this year.
The family entertainment starts at 5pm, then at 7pm the Christmas Carols by Candlelight concert will commence. This will be a delightful evening for the whole family and is sure to be a relaxed, friendly and festive time that everyone can enjoy.
Don't be shy - come along and join in. Bring along a rug and your best singing voice so that you can join in with the festive Christmas Carols. A gold coin donation will be collected for candles and a carols program.
In these tough economic times, hundreds of families struggle to get the bare essentials, let alone luxury items for Christmas.
The Love Community Hamper Project aims to provide nominated families with some Christmas cheer this Christmas. Hand packed, quality hampers are delivered to families in need in the City of Melville area. This successful project delivered over two hundred hampers last year and hope to provide even more this year.
If you would like to help out a family this Christmas you can donate high quality, non-perishable food items. Just bring the items along to the Love Community Christmas event.
