Are you a fan of seafood? Do you enjoy fresh, quality ingredients? If you answered yes to all these then I recommend Louca's Seafood Grill on Hutt Street in Adelaide.

My partner and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary on Saturday, so we decided to venture out and enjoy the glorious weather and some quality seafood. We opted for Louca's Seafood Grill because of the vast range of fresh seafood choices and Greek starters. You can't go wrong with a diverse menu that caters to all. I have visited Louca's once before, and decided to go back because of my previous positive experience.

Louca's offers two dining options, you can sit outside in the alfresco area, or of course you can dine inside - the choice is yours. We opted for the outdoor option as the indoors option had a dining time limit of 2 hours. This is fine, however if you are someone who enjoys soaking up their experience and takes their time eating then I'd suggest sitting outside as their is no restrictions. It also gives you a chance to embrace the warm weather that's coming our way this season. I like to take my time in restaurants and don't necessarily like to feel 'rushed'. Good food is an experience in itself and I like to embrace every moment of it.

The service at Louca's Seafood Grill was great. Our waiter was talkative, knowledgeable and very helpful. She offered her own opinion regarding entree choices, which was excellent, as it conveyed her experience and willingness to assist us. We could have chosen an entree we had our eyes on, but after receiving our main, we were very happy we had chosen to go with her advice or else we wouldn't have been able to get through our platter at all.

We ordered a range of starters (Mezze) including a dozen Natural Oysters with a side of Shallot and Red Wine Vinegar. You can't go wrong with Oysters as an entree, they are my all time favourite thing to kick off a meal. We also ordered a side of Haloumi - another Greek and Cypriot classic and our last option was a side of Tzatziki and Pita Bread. We originally wanted a Trio of Dips and Pita Bread, but our Waiter suggested the Tzatziki was enough, and she was right! Overall, the entree's were great and I really enjoyed all of them. The Oysters were fresh and came out rather quickly, as did the rest of the starters. You can also purchase traditional Greek beers, such as FIX, which brought me back to my holidays on the Greek Islands.





For the main, we decided to go for the Seafood Platter for two, which consists of Australian Seafood including Scallops, Prawns, Calamari and Garfish, sitting on a bed of Potato Chips and a Greek Salad. This was more than we expected when our main arrived. It was extremely filling. I originally wanted the char-grilled option, as it's lighter. However, my partner wanted the battered option, which was a bad choice. Of course the seafood was exceptional, but the batter was too intense. I could hardly stomach it, and I wouldn't choose battered at a restaurant when I can visit my local fish and chip shop and get a seafood basket for $15 instead of the price we paid. I'd suggest opting for char-grill, it's definitely the smarter option but we all secretly love anything deep fried, and this is the problem. Overall it was a great experience that perhaps taught us a lesson on battered food - it's not a good time. I'd definitely recommend Louca's Seafood Grill to my friends and family!
