LOT. 1 Sydney is an Italian restaurant run by Head Chef Ricardo Cavuoto and Adam Swanson.
Situated conveniently near Wynyard Station, spanning over three levels, The 1878 heritage listed building formerly known as the John Solomon Warehouse has a historical charm with a modern twist.
As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by exceptionally well-dressed staff and offered a seat at the bar with a large selection of spirits on display.

The contemporary style interior was decorated with timber swirls, cleverly inspired by the swirls of latte art. A mezzanine level decorated with wine bottles from floor to ceiling serves as a cosy space perfect for small group functions.
Follow the stairs down to the underground basement which was separated into perfect nooks, two bars and the "safe room". Once we were seated, we enjoyed a delicious glass of Prosecco accompanied with fresh green olives.
The entrees soon followed accompanied with a smooth white wine. Oysters / ginger, coriander, soy sauce & chilli. Vitello Tonnato / Raw yellow fin tuna, veal, capers and horseradish. Rangers Valley Wagyu Carpaccio Ms5 / With parmesan and upland cress. This was by far my favourite dish of the day, with the delicate meat melting in my mouth.
Onto our mains, with a heavy red wine. Taglierini / Slow cooked duck, jus. A house made pasta with tender duck; this dish lacked a little flavour for me, I would have liked more duck with this dish.

King George Whiting / Licorice, Yoghurt and Asparagus A sceptic at first as I am not a liquorice lover! I was surprised as the liquorice was not so overpowering, the whiting had quite a lot of saltiness, so the asparagus was a welcome balance.

The winner of the mains! All the guests at the table were begging for MORE! Superbly tender and flavoursome.
