The
Lost Trades Fair is held annually over the Labour Day weekend with the aim of promoting and showcasing arts, crafts and trades that have, for the large part, been lost in this high-tech era.
Hundreds of people visit this fair annually to witness more than 90 traditional tradespeople demonstrate a diverse range of intriguing and, in many cases, lost skills.
If you venture out to the Kyneton Racecourse over the weekend of Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th March between 10 AM and 4PM daily you'll meet beekeepers and Chandlers (candle makers), leather craftsmen, silversmiths, woodcarvers, milliners, instrument makers, tinsmiths, farriers and blacksmiths to name just a few.
The Lost Trades Fair is a great opportunity to meet the people behind these timeless traditional skills. And what better place to do it than in historic Kyneton.
You can be sure the artisans and craftsmen on show will deliver fantastic demonstrations of their particular skill as well as share their knowledge and techniques with visitors.
Tickets at the gate cost Adults $20, Concession $17 and Kids 5 to 15 Years $5 but numbers are limited so be there bright and early to secure a place.
Getting There …….
Kyneton is 90-Kilometres north of Melbourne, just over an hour's drive via the Calder Freeway/M79.
VLine operate regular services to Kyneton on the Bendigo line and buses will operate between Kyneton Station and the Racecourse for this event.
Parking will be available on-site for the cost of a gold coin donation.
