Where do all the missing socks go? Is there a washing machine heaven? Is your dryer eating them? While no-one really knows what happens to those missing socks, the reality is that in sock drawers across Australia, there are single socks languishing without their partner.

So widespread is this phenomenon that there is even a special National Day dedicated to the memory of lost socks. National , celebrated on 9th May each year, is a day on which we are urged to liberate our sad single socks.

Sacred Heart Mission Op Shops located at Fitzroy and Fitzroy North are helping to ensure it will be a positive parting of the ways with your odd socks. On Saturday 7th May, from 10.30am to 5.30pm, you are invited to bring your odd socks (or other pre-loved goods) and bid them a fond farewell at either store.

If you bring in your odd socks on that day, you will receive a 20% discount voucher for goods purchased at that store on that day.

If you make a purchase on that day, and present your receipt at the other store, you will receive a 50% discount on goods purchased at that store on that day.

Discounts apply to goods purchased in one transaction (at each store) on Saturday 7th May.

All funds raised support programs and services provided by Sacred Heart Mission to people experiencing homelessness, disadvantage and social isolation.

So come along to either the Fitzroy store, located at 433 Brunswick Street, or the Fitzroy North store, located at 806 Nicholson Street, on Saturday 7th May, and sock yourself a bargain.
