means "The Mischievous Ones" in Spanish. I'm not quite sure why this restaurant on the main Calle Principal in Mazunte has this name, but it is represented by some crudely drawn children on the signage.

It is similar to many other little comedors on this main street, serving typical Mexican food such as quesadillas (tortillas filled with cheese), nopales (a local vegetable dish made with cactus), empenadas (fried tortillas with different fillings) as well as pasta and some fish dishes.

I have a fondness for this place over some of the others on this road, partly because of the quirky name but also because it was where I had my first lunch with my girlfriend. She was impressed that I was adventurous to try the nopales on this occasion even though I had no idea what they were and she warned me that they can be "a bit slimy".

They weren't as it happens, served "a la Mexicana" with tomato salsa and onion and a side of tortillas.

They have a new snazzily designed menu since then and are offering the Mexican breakfast dish of chilaquiles all day now. This consists of fried tortillas, a spicy sauce, beans, rice and a topping of cheese with optional eggs or meat. This is available in many places around town and is a good way to rate a place. I thought theirs was particularly decent, a solid portion, crispy tortillas and a good green salsa.
