Christmas is a very magical time of year and the lead up to the 25th of December is one of mass celebration.

The annual IGA Lord Mayor's Carols in the City will be held this year on the 8th of December at Riverstage. This free event, suitable for the whole family, will bring up all the special feelings that Christmas always does in a community setting.

A superb line-up of entertainers will headline the nights festivities and these include Troy Cassar-Daley, Paulini, Debra Byrne, Colin Buchanan, New Empire (singing their Olympic games theme) and a world class backing band, choir and dance troupe.

Regulars won't want to miss it, as this year is sure to go off with a bang and if you've never been before, then make this year the start of your new family tradition.

As another bonus, the first 6,000 people through the gate will get a free sample bag of Christmas goodies.

The gates open at 5:00pm with entertainment filling the stage from 5:30 the main event starting at 7:15 and finishing up around 10:00pm that night.

There's plenty of food and drink available at the five star Riverstage venue, however you are able to bring your own eskys, food and drink to the Carols, although alcohol is not permitted as it is a family event in a public venue.

So, pack up your picnic rug and head down to Riverstage on December 8th for a free night of Christmas celebrations with the whole family.
