Brisbane's biggest, best and most loved Christmas carols
Brisbane's biggest, best and most loved Christmas carols event is back to spread more Christmas cheer, once again taking over the River Stage in Brisbane City Botanic Gardens for the IGA Lord Mayor's Carols in the City, this year happening on Saturday 14 December.
Come along to see well-known performers belting out classic traditional carols, modern takes on old favourites and maybe even something new. Santa will once again be along for the ride for a family evening where you can wear your Santa hat or reindeer antlers with pride and let the little ones soak up all that Christmas magic.
The event will be hosted by Georgina Lewis and Josh Holt from Channel Ten. This year's performer line-up includes:
• Christmas carols stalwarts, Paulini and Debra Byrne, • Kids' favourite, Colin Buchanan • Talented classical singer and former Christmas Star winner, Mirusia, • Acoustic soul vocalist, Mark Lowndes • Star of stage and the small screen, Ian Stenlake • 2011 Australia's Got Talent winner, Jack Vidgen • Australian gospel artist, Peter Shurley.
Support comes in the form of the special Carols Choir, dancers, a host of musicians and lots of industrious 'elves' behind the scenes.

The winner of the Christmas Star competition will also make a musical appearance. Anyone over 12 can enter this competition at auditions from 9am on Saturday 30th November at the Queen Street Mall Centre Stage. Finals will be held at 2pm on the same day. If you or someone you know would be interested in this potential catapult to a musical career, or if you'd just like to see the stars of tomorrow take their first steps, all information is on the website here.
Event Details Gates open at 5pm. There will be entertainment from 5.30pm, with the main event beginning at 7.15pm.
Volunteers The event is looking for volunteer helpers to help make this a great night for Brisbane families. Diverse roles such as driving, set construction, painting and ushering are waiting to be filled, some on the night itself and some in the lead-up to the event. If you want to spread some good will you can apply to be a volunteer here.
