Loop the Brightwater Lake, Mountain Creek

If the
'bug' has taught me anything, it's that exploring one's own backyard can be full of surprises, with delightful little gems surreptitiously tucked away in the middle of suburbia … little gems that only the locals appear to know about and as such are usually quite un-busy and begging for adventurers to drop in to explore.
The Brightwater Lake loop ticks all the boxes for a well hidden treasure, providing an awesome waterside walk or cycle along the Brightwater Waterfront, that can start or finish off with a coffee or a play in one of the local well-equipped children's parks.
Invitingly scenic, this Lake loop is flat and easy and with exceptionally well maintained pathways, provides a fun loop for first time cyclists to venture out in a safe locale for a pretty decent 3.1km length circuit. There are multiple paths that split off from the Brightwater Lake pathway, giving walkers and cyclists an excuse to veer off to further unexplored territories.
Along the way, adventurers will discover a variety of children's must-do play parks, beautifully equipped with modern play equipment; BBQ's; undercover picnic tables and gym equipment (for that quick gym fix). Did I mention that this whole area is doggy, on a leash, friendly too? For keen paddlers there are a few ramp access points to the lake, intended to launch non-motorised water craft.
As a treat once completing the 3.1km Brightwater Lake loop, enjoy a picnic with your kids at one of the many picnic spots or stop in for a take-out coffee at one of the local cafes and let the littlies enjoy the play grounds, whilst you sit enjoying the lakeside activities. I was absolutely delighted to discover that the Brightwater Lake is home to one of the
Storybook Seats , a fun and colourful seat beckoning bookworms to curl up, book in hand, to take in the tranquil surrounds.

How to find your way to the Brightwater Lake loop?
The best access point for this circuit is to come off Kawana Way at Brightwater Boulevard. Keep driving along Brightwater Boulevard until you get to the parking area called Lake Edge Park, providing the perfect spot to park and unload the bicycles, the kids and the fur babies.
