From Saturday 18 August to Sunday 16 September 2012, Lionel's Melbourne becomes an gastronomic adventure. The City of Melbourne presents a delicious event to showcase the abundant culinary creativity that calls the city home and tantalise the public's epicurean palate in celebration of Victoria's proud food history and the State Library of Victoria's Gusto! Exhibition.
For Look.Stop.Taste, the Little Press of George Calombaris's The Press Club is serving up a smoky Yarra Valley lamb cutlet with your choice of 2011 Prentice 'Ramato' Pinot Gris, Whitlands, Victoria or 2009 Wine Traveller Shiraz by Alain Graillot, Heathcote, Victoria at AUD17.50. The dish was anointed with sheep's milk yoghurt, quinoa and pomegranate seeds.
Adjacent to The Press Club, Little Press is a contemporary bar-like space styled on a Greek mezethopolio to share some small, tapas-style food as opposed to traditional entrée, main and dessert courses. George Calombaris of MasterChef acclaim created an inviting eatery that anyone can drop in, at any time, to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, late supper or even a pre-dinner drink based on traditional Greek dishes with a modern touch. Bookings are essential.
