You don't often see the words dayspa and budget in the same sentence. If only there was somewhere you could be pampered for several hours - maybe a facial or a deluxe manicure and a massage for less than $80. Fortunately there is such a place - and it's not in Bali.
When the new Central Institute of Technology campus opened in Northbridge last year, it included a purpose-built Beauty Therapy and Remedial Massage Clinic. Students in these courses are required to have many hours of practical experience, so treatments are offered at greatly reduced prices.

The clinic is on the ground floor with the entrance on William Street. It's modern, comfortable and fully equipped to provide waxing, facials, manicures and pedicures. Products used include Dermalogica and Fleur de Mer among others. All treatments are provided by senior students with supervisors nearby.

Facials start at just $21, manicures at $20 and waxing from $8. Pamper packages starting at $50 also offer great value.

On Friday and Saturday the Massage Clinic is open. Located upstairs from the beauty therapy clinic, it's a bit plain but when you're listening to gentle music and getting a full remedial massage for $30, who cares? The students are happy to advise on stretching exercises to keep you feeling well too.
So why not design your own day spa experience? Grab a friend, book some treatments, enjoy a lazy lunch and still have money for shopping.
