It is time to have that 'escape time'
The Long Weekend is the perfect excuse to take that break and forget about the world for a while.

The list below includes some Long Weekend ideas for all budgets and interests.

1. Take A Road Trip

Pack the bags, load up the car and hit the open road with a road trip!
You know what they say leave nothing behind but memories, and taking a road trip this Long Weekend is the perfect idea to escape from it all and have life-long memories.]

Whether it is with your family, friends, lover or even on your own. Australia has so much to offer, there is that perfect road trip for everyone.

2. A Romantic Weekend Away

Being swept away by your lover is something I am sure we all love, and this Long Weekend there is no excuse to not surprise or plan together a romantic getaway, leaving behind the daily hustle and bustle, kids and well everything else!

You can book someplace exotic, take a road trip, book a luxurious hotel stay or even lock the doors, turn off the phone, unplug the net light up the candles and well I will leave the rest to your 'cheeky' imaginationů

3. Family-Friendly Escape
At times it can be difficult to find time away from work and school to spend some fun time together. So let this Long Weekend be the perfect time to spend some extra quality time together as a family.

There are so many ways to have that quality time with family-friendly escapes with some being taking a road trip, picnic spot hopping, a day exploring museums and galleries, taking a day trip to someplace new and different, ferry hopping, or a day at home filled with plenty of games and laughter!

It is time for a weekend filled with board games...


4. Stay At Home
Staying at home is not bad at all during the Long Weekend, you can have that escape without really escaping.

Some of the ideas include getting creative by painting, drawing, play-doh, Paper Mache sculptures, playing board games, cards, experiment with recipes, or even tackle those long-awaited DIY projects.

5. Discover Something New
Life is all about discovering new things and there is no better way to discover and learn something new then when you have the time for it. This Long Weekend why not experience something you have not done before like watching a foreign movie, exploring nature, learn a new language, read a different genre book, pull out the photo albums and discover new things about your ancestors and family members, create an exotic dish that you have not tasted before, listen to a different genre music, or go to a National Park you have never been to before... the options are endless, so go out there and discover something new!

6. Fulfil That Hobby Dream
We all have hobbies, some might be unique, unusual, interesting and different. No matter what your hobby is or if you have a hobby that you always wanted to undertake and never had the time to do it then this Long Weekend is the perfect time for it. Go out there, get the gear you need and start turning that dream hobby into a reality!

7. Camping & National Parks

Nothing beats the outdoors and nature and with the Long Weekend coming up, there is no excuse as time is on our side. Pack up the gear and explore the great outdoors and find new camping sites or maybe try glamping. Explore National Parks and the beauty they offer with an array of activities to including family-friendly activities such as walks, treks, swimming, fishing, 4WD adventures, snorkelling/ diving, birdwatching, wildlife spotting, explore caves, tunnels, forests and more.
